What to pack for facelift surgery in Medellín: loose clothing, documents, medications and comfort items so you can focus on recovery.
What matters when you pack
The goal is simple. You want clothes you can put on and take off without pulling anything over your face, and you want the paperwork and medications you cannot replace once you are here. Most patients overpack. A small carry-on and one checked bag is more than enough.
Clothing for the first week
- Button-front or zip-front shirts. Avoid anything you pull over your head.
- Loose, soft pants with an elastic waist.
- Slip-on shoes. You will not want to bend down to tie laces.
- A light jacket or cardigan. Medellín is spring-like all year, but evenings and air conditioning run cool.
- A scarf or high-collar top for the day you fly home, to cover any remaining bruising.
Documents and paperwork
Bring your passport, a printed list of your medications and allergies, and any prior surgery or test results you have. Keep a copy of your travel insurance details and the clinic's address and phone number somewhere offline.
Medications and comfort items
Keep taking the medications your doctor has cleared, and bring enough for the whole trip. Your coordinator will tell you which ones to pause, such as blood thinners and anti-inflammatories, and exactly when. Bring a phone charger, headphones, and a neck pillow for the flight home. Colombia uses 110-volt power with the same plug type as the United States, so a standard US charger works without an adapter.
What to leave at home
Leave jewelry, watches, and large amounts of cash behind. You will not wear them during surgery or the first week of recovery. The clinic provides compression garments and the recovery supplies you need, so there is no reason to buy them in advance.
