Mini Facelift in Medellín

Mini facelift and MACS lift in Medellín with Dr. Diego Franco. A shorter-incision lift for the jowls and lower face with a faster recovery. Cost, candidacy and recovery.

What a mini facelift is

A mini facelift targets the lower third of the face. It lifts the jowls, tightens the jawline, and softens the first signs of sagging, but with a shorter incision and a faster recovery than a full facelift. The tradeoff is a more limited result. If your neck or midface has significant laxity, a mini facelift will not correct it.

The MACS lift

Dr. Franco's preferred mini facelift is the MACS lift, short for minimal access cranial suspension. The incision is a short S-shape in front of the ear, and the deeper tissues are suspended vertically with sutures instead of being widely undermined. Because there is less dissection, there is less swelling, less bruising, and a shorter scar.

Who it's for

A mini facelift suits younger patients, usually in their forties or early fifties, who are starting to see jowls or a softening jawline but still have good skin elasticity and no real neck laxity. Research on facial aging suggests that treating early changes while the skin still snaps back often produces high long-term satisfaction. If you have heavy jowls or a loose neck, a deep plane facelift is the better choice.

How it's performed

The procedure takes about two hours and is usually done under local anesthesia with sedation rather than general anesthesia. Through a short incision in front of the ear, Dr. Franco suspends the deeper tissue vertically, trims a small amount of skin, and closes the incision. Most patients go home the same day.

Recovery

Recovery is quicker than a full facelift. You will have some swelling and bruising for a few days, and most people return to work within a week to ten days. There are no drains, and the stitches come out around day seven. The result settles over the first few months.

How long it lasts

A mini facelift does not last as long as a deep plane facelift because it does not reposition the deeper structures. Expect roughly seven to ten years, after which many patients return for a full lift. Some choose the mini first and the deep plane later, which is a reasonable staged approach.

Cost

A mini facelift in Medellín costs less than a full facelift. As a reference, a full deep plane facelift runs from about $8,000 to $12,000 here, and a mini lift sits below that. Your written quote depends on whether you combine it with eyelid surgery or liposuction of the neck. We do not publish flat prices because every face is different.
