Neck Lift in Medellín

Neck lift surgery in Medellín with Dr. Diego Franco, board-certified plastic surgeon. Deep neck work for the submandibular glands, platysma bands and a defined jawline.

What a neck lift is

A neck lift corrects the signs of aging in the neck: the loose skin under the chin, the vertical bands of the platysma muscle, and the fat that collects along the jawline. It is often done together with a facelift, because a lifted face with a sagging neck looks unfinished.

What it addresses

  • Loose, crepey skin under the chin
  • Vertical muscle bands, often called a turkey neck
  • A heavy or ill-defined jawline
  • Excess fat under the chin

Deep neck work

Most necks need more than skin tightening. A 2025 review found that about 70 percent of deep neck lifts require some reduction of the submandibular glands, and nearly 59 percent require modification of the digastric muscles. These deeper structures are what give the neck its angle. Dr. Franco addresses them when they contribute to a heavy or rounded neck, which is why his neck lifts look natural from every angle rather than just flat from the front.

Who it's for

A neck lift is for anyone whose neck no longer matches their face. You may have good facial skin but a neck that has started to band or sag. Skin elasticity, your underlying anatomy, and whether you carry fat under the chin all shape the plan.

How it's performed

The incision runs under the chin and around the back of the ears. Through it, Dr. Franco tightens the platysma muscle, removes or repositions excess fat, and redrapes the skin. If the submandibular glands are enlarged, they are reduced through the same approach. The procedure takes two to three hours under general anesthesia.

Safety and recovery

The same blood pressure and tranexamic acid protocol that Dr. Franco uses for facelifts applies to the neck, because a hematoma under the neck skin is the main risk to watch for. Swelling and bruising last about a week, stitches come out around day seven, and most patients travel after two weeks. The final neck contour appears over three to six months.

Cost

A neck lift alone in Medellín runs from about $4,000 to $5,500. A facelift combined with a neck lift runs from about $10,500 to $13,500, compared with two to three times that in the United States. Your written quote covers the surgeon's fee, anesthesia, the facility, and follow-up visits. We do not publish flat prices because every neck is different.
